WHAT IS COUNTRY LINE DANCING?

Country line dancing is a choreographed form of dance where people perform in lines or rows, typically to country music. This dance style involves a series of steps that are repeated throughout the song. Participants do not need a partner, as the focus is on the group formation and the synchronized movements. It originated in the United States and is often associated with country music and western culture. It is a popular social activity. Country Line Dancing is a great way to have fun, exercise, and socialise with others who share a love for music and dancing.

WHAT WILL WE DO IN A COUNTRY LINE DANCING CLASS?

We offer two ways to enjoy our line dance classes: a 6-week block booking or pay-as-you-go drop-in sessions. Each week, we focus on learning 1 to 2 new dances, building your skills gradually and keeping the fun flowing.

During the course, we always take time to review the dances learned the previous week before moving on to new routines. This helps everyone feel confident and comfortable with the moves.

At the end of each 6-week block, we run through all the dances learned so far, giving you a chance to practice and perform your growing repertoire.

You don’t have to commit to the full 6 weeks, if you prefer, you can drop in whenever it suits you and join in learning that week’s dance. Whether you choose block booking or drop-in, everyone is welcome to enjoy the experience at their own pace.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO CLASS?

When attending a country line dancing class, it's essential to wear comfortable and functional clothing that allows for free movement. Opt for fitted tops or breathable T-shirts paired with jeans or comfortable pants that have a bit of stretch. Sturdy footwear is crucial, so choose cowboy boots or dance shoes with a smooth sole for easier sliding and turning. Avoid overly loose clothing that may get in the way while dancing. Don’t forget to accessorize with a cowboy hat, if desired, to complement your outfit!
